Hi there! My name is Ana Jankovic and I am Kingston based artist specializing in oil paintings.

I build up my career far away from art but few years ago I realized that my life-long admiration of art reflected somewhere deep inside as a need to create not only observe. I remember that exact moment ten years ago I was in National Gallery in London looking at beautiful peaces of art and I felt an urgent need to create something, something that would translate my view, my feel of the world I love.

So next day I simply bought a canvas, few brushes and set of oils and started to paint.

I never had a chance to take a formal training (yet), so I am a self-taught artist.

Why do I paint? I simply want to translate how I see things to other people.
I find simple yet real things like plants and fruits, and modest landscapes so inspiring, sometimes I cannot sleep thinking about something I shall put on my canvas next.

I wish my paintings let you see what I see and let you feel what i feel.

I create an original artworks, never copying neither masters or myself, and I am working on commission too.

I work in a studio in Kingston among other artists and twice a year we hold an open studios events where everybody is welcome, usually in June and November. For more details about upcoming events please see my blog.
